Ayala Center Cebu...

since I was a kid, only one mall has stolen my heart and it is ACC or as we local folks call it here "Ayala". Ayala Center Cebu opened in 1994 and is located at Cebu Business Park, which is Ayala Land property. it is currently managed by Cebu Holdings Inc., an affiliate of Ayala Land Inc. it is the crown jewel of Cebu Business Park, it is in the center of the business park. Many people think of Ayala as a very upscale mall that only the rich and the nouveau rich can only go and shop there but the true sense of it, everyone and anyone can go and have a shopping or window shopping experience there. It maybe due to the upscale ambiance that Ayala has brought with it that's why it has been seen as a mall for the rich and famous. ACC has changed Cebu's shopping experience and habits. Cebuanos has now been exposed to brands only we can heard of at television and commercials. Since 1994, the Upper and middle class markets have grown in leaps and bounds due to the warm reception of cebuanos to Ayala. foot traffic in Ayala can reach at a all time high of 150,000 to 200,000 during weekends and holidays. when you walk inside ACC, you feel relaxed and a bit rested because you can't feel the usual rush of people and crammed shoppers that you can usually see in a mall. Filipinos like the one - stop - shop concept of shopping and malls in the Philippines have adapted to that concept. You can find clothes, shoes and other things at bargain prices but when you look at it, it doesn't seem to look like it justifies the price you have bought it with. Sure, there's the boutiques wherein you can find things that are priced way way beyond your budget spectrum but not all of the boutiques in ayala are like that. As I can see it, Ayala offers a shopping experience to everyone. When I have friends, family and colleagues that visit Cebu, I really put it in their list to visit ACC because I want them to experience the things we cebuanos have been experiencing for the past 17 years. ACC continues to expand and give us a more diverse and a very fulfilling shopping and dining experience with the opening of "The Terraces" and its continuing construction with its Phase 2 which will complete the ACC complex. 17 years has passed and still, I'm not bored when I go to Ayala because every time I go there to either shop, dine or just have fun, ACC offers a new, fun and enjoyable experience we can cherish for years to come.
